Short Biography
Tilmann Kohlhaase studied from 1983 - 1988 at the Hdk/GH Kassel in the areas of Film/Television/Animation.

Afterwards, he founded a film production company in Berlin. His work encompasses the genres game films, documentaries, stop-motion, 2D-Animation, 3D-Computeranimation, Games and virtual effects. The largest portion of his films and work are aimed at children and are a combination of animation and live-action.

The projects originate in collaboration with television companies and are presented at numerous festivals at home and abroad.

Beside talks and the management international workshops in the area of the 3D computer animation, Tilmann Kohlhaase has taught, since 1996, at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen „Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg in the animation department. Since 2004 he has been a professor for "Animation and Game-Production" in the media department at Hochschule Darmstadt.

Tilmann Kohlhaase studierte von 1983 bis 1988 an der HdK/GH Kassel im Fach-bereich Film/Fernsehen/Animation.

Anschließend gründete er seine eigene Filmproduktionsfirma in Berlin. Seine Arbeit umfasst die Genre Spielfilm, Dokumentation, Stop-Motion, 2D-Animation, 3D-Computeranimation, Games und virtuelle Effekte. Der Großteil seiner Filme und Arbeiten wendet sich an Kinder und ist eine Kombination aus Animation und Live-Action.
Die Projekte entstehen in Zusammenarbeit mit Fernsehanstalten und werden bei zahlreichen Festivals im In- und Ausland präsentiert.

Neben Vorträgen und der Leitung internationalen Workshops im Bereich der 3D Computeranimation unterrichtet Tilmann Kohlhaase seit 1996 an der Hochschu-le für Film und Fernsehen „Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam-Babelsberg im Fachbereich Animation. Seit 2004 ist er Professor für „Animation and Game-Production“ am Fachbereich Media der Hochschule Darmstadt.
